Chez Gerard - Rupert Street

Postby Wayne on 07 May 2008, 07:16

Went to Chez Gerard in Rupert Street, just off Piccadilly and Shaftesbury Avenue, on Friday. We made a reservation online for 18:00 but arrived early at about 17:40. We thought we may as well go in and have a drink first but they said we could go straight through to the table which was fine by us because we was a bit tight on time anyway as well as not eating much during the day.

All of the staff were very attentive without being in your face as well as being very well trained, making sure that our glasses were always topped up to get through the bottle. The food was very good even if the duck was a little fatty. The restaurant itself is a very nice place to be with good decor and a nice ambience.

Considering it's Chez Gerard and in London too I don't suppose the cost of £100 for two, for two courses, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water is too bad. They do also have a special offer of a smaller set menu of two or three courses which did seem like very good value.

Another thumbs up for the Chez Gerard chain.
