The Chequers, Westoning

Postby Kathy on 26 Feb 2008, 23:11

Went into the Chequers in Westoning on the way back from London tonight - around 6.30, so quite early.
place has changed inside again, used to have the restaurant area at the back, but apparently that is now the home of the pool table - obviously been a change of management!!
restaurant area is now at the front of the pub - menu was not bad, not gourmet food, but some things a little different.
We had a gammon - which was good and not too salty, and a chicken tikka in spicy yoghurty sauce - with basmati and naan bread - it was very nice I have to say
the service was pleasant and efficient and best of all, buy two large glasses of wine and get the rest of the bottle free - with screw top so we finished it when we got home !!
so, all in all, the Chequers, with it's new thatched roof was not a bad place to go !!
