Jumper Review

Jumper
Well, I went to Cineworld in Milton Keynes on Saturday to see Jumper, the film billed as a cross between The Matrix and The Bourne films. Jumper stars Hayden Christensen as David Rice who discovers he has the ability to teleport anywhere in the world as long as he has been there before or can visualise the destination with the aid of a photograph.

Aged just 15 he decides to rob a bank with the use of his new found power. Samuel L Jackson plays Roland, a Paladin, government-sanctioned to track down and kill the Jumpers. After eight years on the trail following the bank robbery Roland finally catches up with David, who then discovers with the help of another Jumper, Griffin, played by Jamie Bell that the war between Jumpers and Paladins has been raging for thousands of years. The rest of the film is basically the two Jumpers and the Paladins trying to outsmart and kill each other.

I had not read or heard any reviews before going to see Jumper but had seen the trailer which made it look like it could be quite good. Unfortunately this turned out not to be the case. I found the storyline lacking any real substance. There was no explanation as to why the Jumpers could "Jump" or why the Paladins or government wanted them dead. All that really happened was Christensen discovered he could Jump. Honed his skill. Jackson tries to kill him. Overall I would give Jumper a disappointing 3 out of 10.

Well, apart from Jumper being not very good, the most hilarious thing was the fact that Cineworld must have some real issues with staffing.
we went to get some ice cream - first it took about 3 days to serve 3 people in front of us, one of whom complained that one scoop was not worth £2.30 - even though it states that one scoop is £2.30 - the poor little mite didn't know what to do, so he put some more ice cream in the tub - good scam I guess if you have the nerve for it!!
then, when I came to pay, he swiped by debit card and because it didn't work he proceeded to tell me that "we don't accept these cards here" and when I asked why not, since last time I bought ice cream I had used the card - he replied with "it's company policy" !!!! However, he then tried swiping it again, and guess what - company policy had changed and he accepted payment from my debit card !!
good job the ice cream was worth it, even if Jumper wasn't !!!
